BOBBY JIMMY LOVES UGLY WOMEN

Born:
Real Name:
Russell Dean Parr
Artist Name: Bobby Jimmy

With a coast-to-coast radio, voice-over, television, comedic, and recording career spanning more than twenty years, Russ Parr's resume reads like an Academy Award nomination! Russ is best known as the hilarious Host of the top-rated, nationally syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show heard weekdays by more than 3.2 million listeners in more than 45 cities across the country. The morning show has garnered numerous awards for being the best in the country. In addition, his weekend show, "On The Air With Russ Parr", can be heard on more than 40 different radio stations nationwide with over 2 million listeners every weekend

In the mid 80's Russ owned and ran his own recording label,
Rapsur Records. He eventually signed with Eazy E's Ruthless Records and his alter ego Bobby Jimmy was produced by the likes of Dr Dre and DJ Pooh. Bobby Jimmy and the Critters sold millions of records. BIG BUTT, HAIR or WEAVE, SOMEBODY FARTED AND ROACHES were some of his biggest hits.

Although Russ started out behind the camera at ABC TV as Production Services Director, stand up comedy was one of his first passions. His very first performance on stage was opening up for Joan Rivers in Santa Monica, California. Russ says if he didn't have all his friends in the audience no one would have laughed. Russ has appeared in several television programs including "Martin", "NBC's Rockin' America", "Good Morning America", "Jenny Jones", "BET Tonight", BET's "Turnstyle", a Showtime network comedy special with Harry Shearer (the voice of Homer Simpson), as well as national TV commercials for Mc Donald's, Kodak, and Thrifty's.

A man with many talents, Russ left Hollywood in '89 where he was the morning man on the legendary 1580 KDAY, the first 24 hour hip hop station in the world. Russ landed in Dallas at KJMZ 100.3 JAMZ, where he eventually became a staple in the community. Russ scraped up what little money he could from old Bobby Jimmy royalties and created FLAVA TV starring Russ and his radio sidekick Alfredas. FLAVA TV gave Russ the ability to write, direct, produce and act - another passion of his. In the mid 90's Russ landed at Radio One's 93.9 WKYS where he was eventually syndicated.

A man of many voices, Russ is known for doing amazingly authentic impersonations of Magic Johnson, Michael Jackson, Shaquille Oneal, and Sweet Peter just to name a few. However, Russ has a very serious side. Domestic violence is a focal point for Russ. Donating air and personal time in an effort to help those in need of support and information. Mental health issues, breast cancer awareness, registering to vote and countless other critical issues are regularly addressed. Russ Parr's Kids Klub is active in every city he broadcasts from. Some of the activities of the Kid's Klub include going to museums, movies, amusement parks and the circus. Russ enjoys the interaction with the kids, since he's a big kid himself.

Russ is a graduate of Cal State University-Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio TV and Film. Russ' wife and children are paramount in his life. "I thank God for them because they never complain about sharing me with so many people," says Russ. His devotion to his family is paralleled only by his commitment to his listeners and community issues.

Though many strive to be #1, few actually make to the top. As he reaches the pinnacle of his award-winning career, its clear that Russ Parr has worked hard to make it to the top.
