Grandmaster Lonzo´s "Eve after Dark" and the legendary "Radio" owned by AJ together with Venues like Alpine Village, World on Wheels, Skateland U.S.A., The Convention Center, The Sports Arena, Veteran’s Auditorium, Cheviot Hills Park, The Long Beach Convention Center, and many others gave a whole generation of people the chance to freak to the sound of the upcoming Rap Scene.

Eve after Dark
Eve was known as a high-class club--dresses for the ladies and ties and slacks for the gentlemen. Lonzo dressed his Jheri-curled DJs in matching lavender outfits and devised Temptations-style choreography. The club became a fixture on the dance map of Los Angeles. "People came out in droves," Lonzo recalls. "It was a constant party." The Radio Club and Radiotron
The history of the Radio/Radiotron is long and interesting. First opend as a nightclub in 1980 by a guy called "AJ" who was a close friend to Ice T. Together with Chris "The Glove" Taylor they formed the legendary "Radio Crew". In 1983 it was closed and reopend as a kind of youth center under the name Radiotron in the Mac Arthur Park area of Los Angeles. It was not just a community youth center; it also served as a safe place for young dancers in Los Angeles to focus on their creativity, leaving the negativity that plagued the inner city at the door.
