This record is packed with classic electro cuts with "Surgery" being the stand out track for me. This track was of course used to great effect on Dave Clarke's Electro Boogie 2 mix, but the version that appears on this album is a different mix.
Definitely one for fans of tough drum machine and vocoder heavy electro delivered at a fast pace. This album is also Worth buying for the cover alone - Dr Dre doesn't look so tough in a white sequined jumpsuit !
Although he went on to make some great music, I still think its a shame that he turned his back on the electro sound that he crafted so well - Examples of which can be found on this album.
"Come here freak, closer and see Dr Dre operate in Surgery"
This was then and is still in my top 10 albums of all time. I saw them at UK Fresh 86, they ripped it up, Yella & Dre stole the whole show. I couldn't wait for them to come back and tour the UK.
I was gutted when they split up, not long after that N.W.A's Straight outta Compton came out, an album that blew my mind and broke my heart at the same time....
